Transphobia
There’s the seaside postcard transphobe
At their bawdy best
Please don’t take me seriously
It was only said in jest
Then there’s the sporting transphobe
The level playing field type
You can’t give back the muscles
Their explanatory gripe
The old school transphobe’s prone to say
It wasn’t like that in my day
When men were men and men were best
And you can probably guess the rest
And almost none were gay
Like the won’t-think-about-it transphobe
Who just doesn’t understand
It used to be so simple
You’re a woman or you’re a man
And the it’s-just-common-sense transphobe
Because everything’s binary
Two eyes, two ears, two hands, two feet
Just common sense you see
And then the internet transphobe
The Rowlings and Linehans
Dead name campaigns are their domain
Denying that your trans
Pick your type, there’s more than two
And each demands to have a say
You might call it a spectrum
Which transphobe will you meet today?
The Sorting Hat
JK Rowling’s sorting hat
Says you’re a boy and that is that
Says some are dog and some are cat
Some are ball and some are bat
Some are tit and some are tat
Some are standing, some are sat
Some are swallowed, some are spat
Some are gloss and some are matt
Some are splash and some are splat
Some you win and some you lose
And it’s the hat that gets to choose
JK Rowling’s sorting hat
Says you’re a boy and that is that
Some are X and some are Y
Some are wet and some are dry
Some are low and some are high
Some are sell and some are buy
Some are sea and some are sky
Some are girl and some are guy
Some you win and some you lose
And it’s the hat that gets to choose
Ten points to Gryffindor, hooray
You’re a boy, now go away
You’re a boy and that is that
Says JK Rowling’s sorting hat
Bin Bags
They’re crying about woke
They’re crying she’s a bloke
They’re crying ‘bout appendages
The vestiges of yesterdays
They’re crying about words
That they think are absurd
They’re crying ‘bout the language
Being savaged for the damaged
It’s bin bags
Bin bags
It’s just bin bags
Bin bags
They’re crying about Bragg
They think that it’s a drag
That he’s standing with the persecuted
Most disputed and excluded
They’re crying about caring
And storytelling scaring
They’re crying ‘bout the activists
Who won’t assist the anti-ists
It’s bin bags
Bin bags
It’s just bin bags
Bin bags
They said you couldn’t call ‘em
By the colour that they are
They said it was the looney lefties
Who had gone too far
They say that what goes around
Comes around again
And now it’s gender critical, it’s
You can’t call it’s
Minds are small, it’s
Bin bags
Bin bags
It’s just bin bags
Bin bags
They don’t like their lives disrupted
Opinions deconstructed
To understand it’s complicated
Other people should be feted
Not just accommodated
And your words can show that you care
Your words can show that you care
It’s bin bags
Bin bags
It’s just bin bags
Bin bags
Bin bags
